Description and guidelines given:
Baseline focuses on the growth and progression of our skill-development. Over the last four years, we’ve developed a foundation of skills, starting at our baseline, and are currently specializing. Objectively, baseline is a point of reference that expands on the idea of a growth of skills. This growth is nonlinear, taking the form of peaks and valleys.
• Focus on the use of light colours.
• Avoid “dark mode” colours and clichés.
• Play with texture, lines and techniques such as trapping (overlapping colours) when printing.
• If the grad show is in person, we’d like budget friendly ways for the print collateral to stand out.

Process and Ideation Work
Rough work is a very important part of the brainstorming process. Quickly sketching ideas that immediately pop into mind is a sure way to find what works and to weed out what does not. From there, the best ideas are digitized into Adobe Illustrator.

Tackling colour is another important step, specifically finding light colours and could overlap well. The overlapping lines of different colours is a reference to the proposed baseline concept of peaks and valleys. An individual designer is unique in their journey and can cross paths with another and create something new without losing their own identity.
